How to skip a month of your BioRender subscription

If you need to take a break from your monthly BioRender subscription, you can pause your plan for one billing cycle. This feature is available up to three times during your monthly subscription period. While paused, your account will switch to BioRender Basic, and your subscription will automatically resume the following month.

Disclaimer: You are allowed a maximum of three pause requests.

This guide explains how to set the pause, what happens during it, and what to expect afterward.

Set the Pause

1. Go to your BioRender account settings:

  • Click your name in the top-right corner of the app.
  • Select Edit Profile & Settings from the dropdown menu.

2. In the left-hand column, click Plan & Billing.

3. Under Your Plan, click the white Manage Plan button.

4. On the Manage Your Plan page, click "Skip a Month". 

Note: If you have reached the maximum allowed three pauses, this option will not be available to you.

5. Scroll to the bottom of the next page and click the blue "Continue to Skip a Month" button.

6. On the Ok, Let’s Skip a Month of Premium page, click the red Skip a Month button.

7. A confirmation window will appear, confirming when your pause will begin. Note: You will continue to have Premium access until the end of your current billing cycle.

During the Pause

  • Your account will be downgraded to BioRender Basic.
  • You will have limited access to illustrations.
  • All other illustrations will remain locked until your subscription resumes.

After the Pause

  • Your subscription will automatically resume.
  • Your account will be re-upgraded to Premium.
  • The credit card on file will be charged.

Troubleshooting

Can't find the Skip a Month button?

  • This option is only available to monthly subscribers with an active Premium plan.

Pause not applied?

  • Make sure to complete all steps and confirm with the red Skip a Month button.
