Understanding BioRender’s refund policy and refund requests

If you believe you’ve been incorrectly charged or experienced an issue with your subscription, we’re here to help. While BioRender plans are prepaid and non-refundable in most cases, our team can review your request under specific circumstances.

We kindly ask that you review the information below before reaching out.


Important information about refunds

  • BioRender subscriptions are prepaid and generally non-refundable, including for unused time or missed cancellations.

  • We only consider refund requests for the most recent charge and in cases of billing error or confirmed service issues.

  • Requests unrelated to service errors or active charges (e.g., forgetting to cancel) typically do not qualify for a refund.

  • Submitting a refund request does not cancel your subscription. You must manage the cancellation directly in your account settings to avoid future charges.

How to request a refund

Please use one of the following methods to submit a request. Be sure to include the email address associated with your BioRender account.

  1. Email: Contact support@biorender.com

  2. Live Chat: Click the "Help" button at the bottom-right corner of the BioRender app and type "refund" to begin.

Frequently asked questions

I forgot to cancel before my trial ended. Can I get a refund?

  • Refunds are not issued for missed cancellations. All plans renew automatically unless canceled before the trial or renewal date.

Why can't I get a refund for unused time?

  • BioRender plans are billed in advance for the full term. You can cancel to prevent future charges, but we do not offer partial refunds for unused time.

What if I’m part of a team or Institutional/Enterprise license?

  • If you are connected to an larger license and have been unable to cancel your personal subscription, we are happy to review your account and provide a pro-rated refund for the overlap in subscriptions. Please reach out within 30 days of gaining access to a larger, group license.
