BioRender is a cloud-based platform, which means your files are automatically backed up and versioned. There's no need to manually save your work.
How file protection works
- Versioning: BioRender automatically saves versions of your files as you work, so you can recover from unintentional edits.
- Cloud backup: Because BioRender stores all files in the cloud, your work is protected against local device failures, unlike desktop tools that save files only to your computer.
Can a permanently deleted file be recovered?
If a file is accidentally hard deleted, BioRender can recover it. This applies to all BioRender file types, including illustrations and Graphing files.
How to request file recovery
File recovery is handled by BioRender's support team. Our team will use this information to locate the file and restore it for you. To submit a request:
- Contact BioRender Support via the in-app chat or at support@biorender.com.
-
Include the following details to help us locate your file:
- The name of the deleted file (if known)
- The approximate date and time it was deleted
- The email address associated with your BioRender account
Important notes:
- We require the account holder of the deleted file to reach out to confirm they would like the file restored.
- Members of our Support team are not able to see the contents of your files and strictly search by name, account and date only.
Tips to avoid accidental deletion
- BioRender displays a confirmation prompt before permanently deleting a file. Take a moment to confirm before proceeding.
- If you want to remove a file from your workspace without deleting it permanently, consider moving it to a separate folder instead.
