There are many reasons you might need to move files between accounts such as team member transitions, account consolidation, project handoffs, or preparing an account for closure. While it may seem helpful for support to handle the transfer, we encourage you to complete the process manually for security and compliance reasons.
Our support team is committed to safeguarding your data and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. To protect your information, we do not transfer files or content between accounts on behalf of our users. This ensures that you retain full control of your data and that transfers are secure and authorized.
How to transfer files between accounts
To transfer files manually, follow these best practices:
- Use the "Send a copy" feature to share a duplicate of your file with another account. This allows the recipient to edit their own version without affecting your original. The file will be associated fully with the account it has been sent to.
- If you're part of an organization, you can have the administrator of your BioRender license use the "Transfer file ownership" option to reassign ownership to a colleague or another team member. Please note, your colleague or team member must be a part of the same organization.
Support limitations and data security
We often receive questions about whether our support team can assist with file transfers if you provide written consent. Even in such cases, we cannot access or move user data between accounts due to privacy and security protocols. If you no longer have access to your original account, our team can review your request and help guide you on the next steps.
If you require further support or a review of your account, please email us at support@biorender.com and will do our best to assist.
