Whether you’re moving to the Basic plan or upgrading to Premium, this guide explains how your illustrations are affected and the features you can access with each plan.
Step-by-step guide
Illustrations after downgrading to BioRender Basic
When you cancel your BioRender Premium subscription, your account will revert to the BioRender Basic (free) plan. Here’s what happens to your illustrations:
- Illustration storage limit: On the Basic plan, you will have limited access to your illustrations.
- Access to recent illustrations:
- Only some of the most recently edited illustrations will remain available.
- Further illustrations will become "Preview-only".
- In "Preview-only" mode, illustrations are stored in your account but cannot be edited or exported unless you re-upgrade to Premium.
- Managing "Preview only" illustrations: If you need to access an older, locked illustration, you can delete newer illustrations to free up space within the illustration limit or upgrade to Premium.
Tip: Downgrading does not delete any of your illustrations. All content remains stored in your account and can be accessed again if you choose to re-subscribe.
Illustrations after upgrading to BioRender Premium
When you upgrade your account from Basic to Premium, all previously created illustrations will become accessible to you once again.
Once you upgrade your account, the only thing that will change is your access to premium features.
You unlock Premium features like:
- Publication rights
- Unlimited figures
- High-resolution exports
- Custom icon requests
- Premium icons
