🤖 Leo by BioRender
What's New: Leo is BioRender's AI agent for building scientific figures. Describe your figure, answer a few planning questions, and pick one of four grayscale layout sketches. You can mark up the sketch to show what you want changed. Review the color draft, then add it to your canvas as a fully editable figure. You can also start from a paper, deck or image, or remake an existing figure in BioRender style. Learn more: Designing with Leo, BioRender's AI Agent. See all AI tools in the Overview of BioRender's AI tools.
Why it Matters: You don't need a finished idea to start. Leo asks the questions a figure expert would ask and builds only after you approve the plan. That helps you get to a strong first draft on complex figures, like mechanisms of action and study designs, that used to take days.
Available to: Leo requires a paid add-on plan. If you are on an organizational license and do not see Leo, reach out to your admin for more information about access.

Violin Plots
What's New: Create violin plots from your datasets by selecting “Violin” in the graph type picker; you can nest box plots inside each violin or overlay median and quartile lines and adjust smoothing and kernel options to control the density curve.
Why it Matters: Save time producing publication-ready distribution plots that reveal skewed or bimodal data and add clear summary statistics in the same view; this also addresses a frequently requested gap with Prism for teams evaluating a move to BioRender.
Available to: All members.
📊 Interpolate a Standard Curve
What's New: You can now analyze your assay data (ELISA, qPCR, and more) end-to-end in BioRender Graphing. Build your standard curve with your known concentrations, then use that to calculate your unknowns. The calculated values can be added as a new dataset to be plotted and tested within Graphing. Find it in the analysis setup modal when you run a linear or non-linear regression.
Why it Matters: The end-to-end process takes just a few clicks and there’s no manual transformation needed to stitch your results together.
Available to: All members. Converting to Editable Figures and advanced editing tools remain available on paid plans.
📊 ELISA Curve Fitting (Dose‑Response Models)
What's New: Fit linear or non-linear (dose‑response) regression models to ELISA optical density (OD) data to generate standard curves and predict unknown sample concentrations directly in Graphing.
Why it Matters: Generate standard curves from serial dilutions to accurately determine analyte concentrations, so you can compare treatment effects and interpret ELISA results more quickly and reliably.
Available to: All members
📊 Area Under the Fitted Curve
What's New: Calculate the area under fitted dose-response or 5PL curves directly in the regression setup-integrate over log10(dose), choose any dose range (including beyond measured doses), and report the area from zero or the curve’s fitted bottom in multiple formats.
Why it Matters: Save time and improve the reliability of drug-response comparisons by integrating across the fitted curve, which reduces the impact of noisy data points and supports consistent comparisons across different dose ranges aligned with pharmacology practice.
