When it comes to inviting members to your organization’s license, the options available to you are determined by your license type. We recommend reaching out to your account manager to confirm the best way to invite users to your organization.
Here’s a quick guide to help you understand how it works:
You will receive a portal link specific to your organization. For some licenses, auto membership may be enabled when a member logs in through the portal. Auto membership means that users automatically are granted access to your license when they click the link, without needing to sign up or request access.
The portal page will prompt visitors to sign up for BioRender. If they already have an account they should click the link “ Already have an account? Log In” . This should always be encouraged if they have already signed up for a non-institutional account. If appropriate, they can update their email address to align with their institutional email. If they are transitioning from another institutional license and require further support, please direct them to email support@biorender.com so we can assist with the next steps.
1. Inviting Members Directly (license dependent)
- If your organization’s license includes the option to invite members directly by email, you will see this option in your Admin panel settings. This allows you to add members by sending them invitations to join your organization’s license and re-invite members if necessary.
- Inviting members can be done by import (uploading a CSV file), or by inviting members by email.
- If auto-membership is enabled, anyone with the portal link and selected criteria can access a seat on your license.
2. Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration
- This option involves providing a portal landing page to your members that reroutes them to an SSO login.
- Active Directory Group Management: If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), member management is typically handled through your Active Directory (AD) groups. In this case, new members are automatically added based on their inclusion in the relevant AD group, and manual invitations are not necessary.
- Allowing invites through SSO: If your organization has selected this option, you can send invites as if your org is not an SSO organization. The invited users will only be able to login through the portal if the organization's Admin has granted them access through Active Directory.
