How to resolve "User is part of another organization" error in BioRender

When inviting users to your institutional or enterprise BioRender license, you may encounter the message "User is part of another organization." This error typically means the user is already associated with a separate BioRender license, such as a Lab or Team subscription.

How to fix the “User is part of another organization” error:

  1. Confirm the email address listed in the error message.
  2. Confirm if the user is currently part of a Lab or Team BioRender license.
  3. Depending on your organization's migration plan, choose one of the following options:
    • If only the user is joining your license:
      1. Ask the user to be removed from their current lab or team license by the Admin of that license.
      2. Once removed, you can resend the invitation to join your organization’s license.
    • If the entire lab is moving to your organization's license:
      1. Have the Admin of the Lab or Team plan contact Support at support@biorender.com and request to downgrade the license. Our support team will provide a pro-rated refund for any overlap in subscriptions.
      2. After the downgrade, re-invite affected users to your institutional license.
  4. Confirm the re-invite has been sent from your Admin dashboard.
