In collaborative work, you may need to transfer your BioRender account to a new team member or take control of an existing account. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth transition.
If you are the current account owner
If you are leaving your institution or position, you may want to transfer your account or files to another individual. To complete this transfer, follow the steps that best match your situation.
The person taking over your account does not have a BioRender account
- Update the email address associated with your account to one the new owner can access.
- Contact our Support Team at support@biorender.com from your registered email to request an account name change.
- In your request, explain the reason for the transfer and CC the new owner on the email.
The person taking over your account already has a BioRender account
- The best approach is to send copies of your files to their account.
- If you need to transfer a premium license, contact our Support Team to process this change.
If you are taking over an account
If you are an individual taking over an account and the original owner has already left, follow the steps that best fit your situation.
The account’s email has been updated, and you need to change the account name
- The original account owner must contact our Support Team (support@biorender.com) from their registered email to confirm the change.
- Ensure you are CC’d on the email.
- Once we receive their confirmation, we can update the account name.
No account changes have been made yet
- If the original account owner still has access, follow the steps outlined in The person taking over your account does not have a BioRender account.
- For security purposes, we cannot make any account changes without confirmation from the original owner.
If the original account owner has left the institution or team and cannot be contacted, please reach out to our Support Team with your request. We will determine the best solution for your case.
