Discover our Student plans and pricing options

At BioRender, we recognize the importance of accessibility in empowering students and researchers worldwide. We offer several Student plans tailored to different needs, providing discounted access to BioRender Premium and ensuring students can create professional-grade scientific illustrations with ease.

We currently offer the following student subscriptions:

  • Undergraduate Subscription – Ideal for undergraduate students requiring access to BioRender’s premium features.
  • Student Subscription – Designed for graduate students who need advanced tools for research and publication.
  • Postdoc Subscription – Geared toward postdoctoral researchers working in universities, research institutes, and NGOs/government non-profits.

❗Important note: All Student plans require a personal credit card for activation. Student plans are only available to users who pay out of pocket. If you will be reimbursed by your institution or organization, you are not eligible for student pricing and will need to subscribe to either an Individual or Lab plan. If you need help with reimbursement, please reach out to our support team.

  • Lab License: If you're part of a lab and want a lab license, we can assist in the process.
    • Contact us to connect with your Principal Investigator (PI) or Lab Manager, so you don’t have to pay out of pocket.
  • 14-Day Free Trial: Explore BioRender with a 14-day free trial, which allows you to:
    • Experiment with premium features.
    • Assess how BioRender enhances your research and communication.
    • Determine if it fits within your workflow before upgrading.

Frequently asked questions

Can I purchase a subscription for just one month?

  • Undergraduate Subscription: No, only available in 4-month billing cycles.
  • Student & Postdoc Subscriptions: Yes, monthly billing is available.

Can I change my billing cycle if I selected the wrong one?

  • If you’ve chosen the incorrect billing cycle, please contact our support team for assistance.

Where can I publish my illustrations with this subscription?

  • Undergraduate: Cannot publish in journals.
  • Student & Postdoc: Can publish in journals, academic websites, and grant applications.
  • Postdoc: Cannot publish in textbooks without an upgrade.

Can I publish in a textbook with the Student Plan?

  • For textbooks, if your work will be published for non-profit use, you are allowed up to 5 figures.
