How to send a preview of your illustration

You can easily share a preview or working version of your BioRender illustration with collaborators or colleagues by sending an invite link. 

Create an invite link

You can generate a shareable invite link from either the Gallery or the Editor.

From the Gallery

  1. Find the file you want to share and click the More button (•••).
  2. Select Share.
  3. Choose the permissions for the invite link:

    • Edit – Anyone with the link can edit the file (must have a BioRender account).
    • View – Anyone with the link can only view the file.
    • No Access – Anyone who had access via the link will no longer be able to view or edit.

  4. Click Copy link.
  5. Paste the link wherever you'd like to share it.

From the Editor

  1. Click Share in the top toolbar.
  2. Choose the permissions for the invite link (same options as above).
  3. Click Copy link.
  4. Paste the link wherever you'd like to share it.

Update invite link permissions

To update permissions on an existing invite link:

  1. Go to the Share settings of the file (via Gallery or Editor).
  2. Adjust the link permissions as needed (e.g., change from View to No Access).
    • Anyone with the existing link will see the updated permissions immediately.
    • You do not need to generate a new link.

Troubleshooting

How can I delete an invite link?

  • Invite links cannot be deleted unless the file itself is deleted. However, you can restrict access by setting the link permission to No Access. This will prevent anyone with the link from accessing the file.

What files can I send invite links to?

  • Illustration and Poster files: Fully viewable via invite link, even for users without a BioRender account.
  • Slide decks: Only the first slide is visible in preview mode. Recipients must log in or create an account to view the full slide deck.
