As an administrator, you can manage Groups within your organization to improve collaboration and ensure data security. Groups allow you to organize members efficiently and include both internal and external users with Basic or Premium subscriptions.
How do individual roles differ in a Group?
- Group-member: View, join a group and share with a Group.
- Group-admin: Manage and delete the Group, add or remove users and share with a Group.
- Org-member: Create Groups within the organization.
- Org-admin: Oversee all organization Groups and cannot share with a Group.
- All other users: Can join a Group.
How to create a Group
- Click on your profile in the top-right corner of your BioRender webpage.
- Select "Edit Profile & Settings".
- Under Groups, click "Create New Group".
- Enter a Group Name and click "Create". You will be directed to your new group.
How to add members to a Group
- Click on your profile in the top-right corner.
- Select "Edit Profile & Settings".
- Under Groups, find your desired Group.
- Search for a Group using the group name if needed.
- If external members are in a Group, an exclamation mark will appear next to the number of members.
- Click on the three dots (⋮) next to the Group.
- Select "Add Members", enter member details, and confirm.
Group Overview for your specific Group
In the Group Overview page, you can:
- Change the roles of Group members within a specific Group.
- Download a .CSV file of the Group member list.
- Resend invitations to group members.
- Remove members from a specific Group.
- Rename the Group.
How to access the overview
- Click anywhere on the Group Name, or
- Click the "three dots" (⋮) and select View.
How to change member roles
- Navigate to the Group Overview page.
- Locate the member's current role.
- Update their role to Group Member or Group Admin.
How to download a .CSV file of Group data
- Go to the Group Overview page.
- Select the Group from which you want to download data.
- Click "Download CSV" next to the member list.
Managing Group invitations
- Resend an Invite: Click the "three dots" (⋮) next to a member and select "Resend Invite".
- Invite a Non-License User: Click the "three dots" (⋮) and select "Invite to License".
- Remove a Member: Click the "three dots" (⋮) and select "Remove from Group".
How to rename a Group
- Navigate to Edit Details.
- Update the Group Name.
How to delete a Group
- Click on your profile in the top-right corner.
- Select "Edit Profile & Settings".
- Under Groups, find the Group you want to delete.
- Search for a Group if needed.
- Click on the "three dots" (⋮) next to the Group.
- Select "Delete", then confirm the deletion.
