Exporting file formats in BioRender

BioRender allows users to export illustrations in multiple file formats, with various resolution options to suit different needs.

Available file formats

All users can export illustrations in the following formats:

  • PNG: High-quality images with transparency support.
  • JPEG: Compressed format suitable for web use and presentations.

Premium subscribers also have access to PDF export.

🚫 Note: There is no vector export option at this time.

Resolution options

Users can select different resolutions based on their intended use:

  • 72 DPI: Low resolution for web
  • 150 DPI: Medium resolution for presentations
  • 300 DPI: High resolution for print
  • 600 DPI (Premium Only): Extra high resolution for some journals

Premium subscribers have access to higher resolution options for better print quality.
