Applying color presets to shapes with text helps maintain visual consistency and improves readability across your scientific figures. BioRender offers preset color combinations for text, fill, and stroke that ensure optimal contrast.

Step-by-step: Apply color presets to text shapes

1. Insert a text shape

  • Select a Text Shape from the dropdown options.

  • Click on the canvas to place the shape.

2. Add and edit text

  • Double-click inside the shape to enter and edit your desired text content.

3. Apply a Color Preset

  • With the shape selected, navigate to the left-side properties panel.

  • Choose a Color Preset to automatically apply coordinated text, fill, and stroke colors.

4. Customize further (Optional)

  • To override the preset, click on:

    • Stroke to change the border color

    • Fill to change the background color

    • Text color options for specific adjustments

You can change your color preset at any time by repeating these steps.

Note: Gradient fill options are available exclusively for Premium plans.
