Understanding Group roles and permissions

In BioRender, users can have different roles within a group. Admins will have additional privileges compared to Members.

Group admin role

  • The Group Admin role is automatically assigned to the creator of the group.

  • It is recommended to assign a Principal Investigator (PI), Lab Manager, or team leader as the Admin.

Admin privileges

Group Admins have the ability to:

  • Assign Admin status to other team members.

  • Add and remove team members from the group.
