Eligibility for the Student subscription
The Student Subscription is available to individuals studying at:
• Universities
• Research Institutes
• NGOs/Government Non-Profits
When you use BioRender, each person will have their own personal, unique login details, granting them access to their individual account. If you haven't created a free account yet, you can do so here! By purchasing a Student subscription, you are securing a subscription for a single account, which can only be accessed by one person.

How to apply for the Student subscription
1. Create a BioRender account
- Visit the BioRender website and sign up for a new account.
- Ensure your role is set to Graduate Student
- During sign-up, select the Student Subscription option.
2. If you already have a BioRender account, follow these steps to update your role:
- Go to your Profile Settings.
- Scroll to the About You section and update your Role to Graduate Student.
- Remember to save your changes.
3. Subscribe to the Premium Student plan
- Follow the subscription instructions provided in the support article here.
4. Complete payment
- Choose your preferred billing cycle and complete the payment process.
Publishing permissions
With the Student Subscription, you can publish figures created in BioRender for:

• Personal academic websites
• Grant applications
For textbooks, if your work will be published for non-profit use, you are allowed up to 5 figures.

• Annually: $180 USD/year
• Monthly: $19.95 USD/month
• Quarterly: $68.00 USD/4 months
Note: Our Student subscriptions are already heavily discounted at 40-50% and intended for students paying out of pocket. If reimbursement via your department is required, the discount cannot be offered.

On our paid academic subscriptions, BioRender illustrations can be published in journals and used for educational purposes, such as conference presentations, lectures, and academic/lab websites.
