In order to publish a BioRender figure, at least the first author or one of the co-first-authors of the publication needs to be on a paid subscription.

There are 2 conditions for publication rights:

  • The figure was exported under a paid subscription, with an associated publication license.

  • Citation of "Created with BioRender.com" anywhere in the publication.

Please note, the creator of the figure and/or the account holder that has access to the figure must be included as the first or one of the co-first-authors on the publication. The last author having a paid BioRender account is not sufficient for publication permissions. The last author is not required to have a license.
