How to use Narrative View

Narrative View gives you a visual overview of all slides in your project, making it easier to adjust structure and sequence in one place.

What is Narrative View?

Narrative View replaces the standard slide panel with a zoomed out layout that displays every slide at once. From this view, you can:

• Zoom in or out
• Drag to reorder one or multiple slides
• Add new slides
• Delete slides

This layout is useful for reviewing slide order, reorganizing sections, and making structural updates before sharing or presenting.

How to Access Narrative View

1. Open your project in the BioRender canvas.

2. Navigate to the bottom right corner of the editor.

3. Click the View menu.

4. Select Narrative View.

The canvas will switch from the standard slide panel to the narrative layout.

How to Rearrange Slides

1. Enter Narrative View.

2. Click on a slide to select it.

3. Drag the slide to a new position in the layout.

4. Release to drop it into place.

You can also select multiple slides and drag them together to reorder sections of your presentation at once.

How to Add a Slide

1. Enter Narrative View.

2. Click the option to add a new slide within the layout.

3. The new slide will appear in your sequence, where you can reposition it as needed.

How to Delete a Slide

1. Enter Narrative View.

2. Select the slide you want to remove.

3. Use the delete option to remove it from your project.

Zooming In and Out

Within Narrative View, you can zoom in to focus on specific slides or zoom out to see your entire presentation structure. This is helpful for reviewing transitions, checking order, and ensuring your story flows clearly from one figure to the next.

Switching Back to Standard View

To return to the standard editing layout:

1. Go to the bottom right corner of the editor.

2. Click the View menu.

3. Switch back to the default slide view.

When to Use Narrative View

Narrative View is especially helpful when:

• Preparing a multi slide presentation
• Reviewing the logical progression of a workflow or protocol
• Reordering sections before sharing
• Refining the overall structure of a scientific story
