How to use AI powered Smart Search

The AI powered Smart Search feature in BioRender allows you to perform more intuitive searches when building scientific illustrations. Instead of entering multiple explicit keyword searches, you can now describe your concept naturally. The system will break down these descriptions into topics and return curated icon results, streamlining the illustration-building process.

How to use Smart Search

1. Access the search bar:
   • Navigate to the BioRender homepage or your illustration workspace.
   • Click on the search bar at the top of the screen.
   • Once clicked, the search area will expand and show sample queries to help guide your search.

2. In the search bar, type a full description of what you're looking for — instead of individual keywords or icon names:
   • This helps the AI return more accurate and context-relevant results.
   • Press “Enter” or click the arrow button to run the search.
   • Example: Antigen presentation to T cell in lymph node.

3. View the search results:
   • BioRender will process your description and generate topics.
   • The search results will display relevant icons categorized by the key elements of your description.
   • Click “View All” to see additional icons within the same category or topic.

4. Select icons for your illustration:
   
   • Click on the icons you want to add to your canvas.
5. Refine your Search (if needed):
   • Adjust your description for more precise results.
   • Use additional keywords to specify details.
