Share BioRender in Microsoft Teams

BioRender’s integration with Microsoft Teams makes it simple to share high-quality scientific illustrations directly within your team’s chats and channels. Whether you're collaborating on a project, gathering feedback, or aligning on visual content, the integration ensures your files display reliably with rich previews and secure access.

Paste a BioRender link into a chat or channel and your team sees the figure right in the conversation.

Set it up

BioRender App Installed in Microsoft Teams is available exclusively for Enterprise plans.

  • The BioRender app must be installed into your Microsoft Teams environment. You can verify this by checking your Teams apps or asking your BioRender admin if necessary.
  • If the BioRender app is not pre-approved by your platform admin, you can share our BioRender MC Team Integration Security Whitepaper, along with your request to use the app.

Once Teams is installed for your organization:

  1. If prompted to sign in and it states you are unauthorized, click "Sign in" to view card content.
    • Enter your Organization Name ID to authenticate.
    • To find it, go to your profile page-it’s at the bottom.
    • If no ID is listed, your plan may need to be upgraded to an Enterprise license.
    • You only need to sign in once.
  2. In BioRender, open a file and select "Share" › "Copy Link".
    • Additionally, you can click on the "Share" button in BioRender, and select "Copy Link" to get the shareable link of the illustration.
  3. Paste the link into a Teams chat or channel.
  4. If you see "Sign in", select it and sign in to BioRender. If you're asked for your Organization Name ID, you'll find it on your BioRender profile under "About you".

Good to know

  • Everyone in the chat or channel sees the preview image, including people without BioRender access. Only share links to figures the whole group can see.
  • Only people you've added as collaborators in BioRender can open the file. Others can request access.
  • Previews work for illustrations and posters.
  • Your BioRender admin can turn link previews off for your organization.

If something goes wrong
