Adding comments in BioRender (👑 Premium only)

BioRender’s commenting feature allows you to collaborate efficiently by leaving feedback directly on the canvas. In this guide, you’ll learn how to add, edit, reply to, resolve, delete, and hide comments in your BioRender projects.

Add a comment

1. In the toolbar, select Add Comment to enter comment mode.
2. Click on the canvas where you want to leave a comment.
3. Type your comment and click Post.
   • You can drag the yellow comment symbol to move the comment pin.
4. When you're done, select Exit in the toolbar to exit comment mode.

Edit a comment

1. On your canvas, select the comment you'd like to edit.
2. Click the ••• (horizontal ellipsis menu icon) in the top-right corner of the comment.
3. Select Edit.
4. Make your changes, then click Save.

Reply to a comment

1. On your canvas, select the comment you want to reply to.
2. Type your reply in the text box below the comment.
3. Click Post to submit your reply.

Resolve a comment

1. On your canvas, select the comment you'd like to resolve.
2. In the top-right corner of the comment, click the circle with a checkmark icon.
   • The circle with a checkmark will turn green.
   • The comment icon will change from a speech bubble to a checkmark bubble.

Note: Currently, you cannot unresolve a comment once it’s been marked as resolved.

Delete a comment

1. On your canvas, select the comment you'd like to delete.
2. Click the ••• (horizontal ellipsis menu icon) in the top-right corner of the comment.
3. Select Delete.
4. Click Delete comment to confirm.

Hide or show comments

1. In the toolbar, click the ••• icon next to Add Comment.
2. Select Hide Comments to remove all comment indicators from your canvas.
3. To show them again, click Show Comments.
