This guide walks you through the steps for installing the BioRender Add-in for PowerPoint, detailing compatibility requirements, and providing tips to get the most out of your add-in.
How to install the Add-in:
- Access the BioRender Add-in:
- Use this link to access the BioRender for PowerPoint Add-in through Microsoft AppSource.
- Get the Add-in:
- Click “Get it now”. You will be prompted to sign in to AppSource using an organizational, personal, or Microsoft account.
- After signing in, confirm your details by selecting “Get it now” again.
- Complete installation in Microsoft 365:
- You will be redirected to Microsoft 365. Select “Open in PowerPoint” to proceed.
- Enable the Add-in:
- After PowerPoint opens, click “Trust this add-in”. The BioRender button will appear on the far right-hand side of the Home menu in PowerPoint.
- Get started:
- Congratulations! You are now ready to use the BioRender Add-in to add and update figures in your presentations.
Troubleshooting the PowerPoint Add-in
- Compatibility issues: The add-in is incompatible with Office Long Term Service Channel (LTSC) versions of PowerPoint.
- PowerPoint version compatibility:
- Office on Windows: Version 2208 (Build 15601.20230) or higher.
- Office on Mac: Version 16.64.804.0 or higher.
- Office on the Web: Supported but with limited functionality.
- For the best experience, use the add-in with Office on Windows or Mac.
BioRender Basic plan limitations
If you are on the BioRender Basic (free) plan, you can access up to two file updates per month. To gain unlimited usage, consider upgrading to one of our Premium plans!
