We understand that sometimes you may need to refine your figures further in external software. In such cases, it's important to ensure your publication license aligns with the edited version.
When to Obtain a New Publication License
When you make changes to your figure that alters its appearance from what it looked like when exported, you will need a new publication license. Such changes include cropping, moving, or modifying the figure's colours.
How to Download a New Publication License
To acquire a new publication license for your edited figure, follow these simple steps:
Upload Your Edited Figure: Begin by uploading the edited figure as an image to BioRender.
Re-export the Updated Figure: After uploading, re-export the figure. This ensures that the license aligns with the current version of your figure.
When Not to Regenerate a License
If you only add components to the figure, such as text or images, you do not need to obtain a new publication license. This simplifies the process when you're making minor adjustments without significantly altering the original figure.
