How to change your data format

As of August 2024, we offer the ability to change the way data is formatted/displayed for analyses with one independent variable (one-way ANOVA and t-test).

In addition to the default ‘long’ data format where values are stacked, we now also offer the ‘wide’ data format where each level of your independent variable is in its own column.

You will be prompted to select your preferred format the first time you open BioRender Graph. By hovering over the options, you can see how the same values are reorganized depending on your choice.

We will remember your choice and display your data in your selected format for all subsequent datasets with one independent variable.

If you want to change the data format at any point, you can simply click the "Data Format" button on the upper right hand corner while in the Dataset view:

This will open the options on the right side of the screen, letting you select your preference.

This video shows how you can change your data format and highlights how the same data looks when transformed between long data format and wide data format. We also show that the graph and the analysis remain identical, this option just changes the display of data.
