We understand that sometimes you may need to refine your figures further in external software. If you plan to refine your figures in external software and publish them, you’ll need a publication license for the icons used in BioRender.
How to export a publication license
Here are a few options for exporting a license:
- Option 1: You can add all the icons used to a multi-slide file and export a single publication license for only the icons.
- Option 2: You can upload the final completed figure into BioRender and export a license.
A paid premium plan will be needed to access publishing rights for any figure (How do I upgrade my account?). If you export your figures while on a paid plan, you retain the right to publish them, even if you downgrade later. The type of publication (Publishing in Open-Access Resources; Publishing in Closed-Access Resources) will determine the license type needed.
If you have any questions or concerns, open the chat messenger (on the bottom right corner) or email us at (support@biorender.com).
