How to request a custom icon (๐Ÿ‘‘ Premium only)

If you're working on an illustration and need an icon that's not yet in our library, you can request it directly from BioRender. 

Disclaimer: Icon requests are not guaranteed and depend on prioritized subject matter, request volume, and complexity.

Who can request custom icons?

Custom icon requests are available to users on:

  • Industry Team plans
  • Enterprise plans

How to request a custom icon from the canvas

  1. Open any illustration to enter the canvas.
  2. Use the search bar to look for the desired icon.
    • Try multiple keywords including common names, scientific names, and synonyms.
  3. If you donโ€™t find the icon you need, scroll to the bottom of the icon library.
  4. Click "Request a Custom Icon".
  5. Complete the Icon Request Form:
  6. Click Submit.

Youโ€™ll receive a confirmation email once your request is received.

What happens after submitting?

  • The BioRender Creative Team will review your submission.
  • Turnaround time is approximately 25โ€“30 business days.
  • If approved, your custom icon will be added to the public icon library.
  • Youโ€™ll be notified via email when the icon becomes available.

 Requesting custom brushes

Need a new brush instead of an icon? You can use the same form to request custom brushes.

  • Brushes are prioritized based on community demand.

Canโ€™t find the request button?

  • Make sure youโ€™re signed in under an eligible Premium plan.

Didnโ€™t receive confirmation?

  • Check your spam or promotions folder for the confirmation email.
