To ensure our users are always able to understand the source of the content they are viewing, we require that any BioRender content is credited appropriately.

Except as expressly granted in our terms and conditions, we retain all rights, title and interest in and to the Assets of the library (icons & templates). Since the ownership of the individual assets belongs to BioRender, proper credit of that ownership with "Created with BioRender.com" ensures proper usage.

How to cite BioRender

Citations for original figures (not created using BioRender templates)

Whether you’re publishing in a journal, textbook, or simply in a presentation or departmental website, all users must cite BioRender figures with the credit “Created with BioRender.com.”

*If you are part of a sitewide or departmental license, please follow the licensing and citation terms laid out by your institution.

Citations for figures adapted from BioRender templates

If you would like to publish a figure adapted from one of our BioRender templates, with modifications to original content and/or design, please cite the template as follows.

Of course, you can adapt the citation to match your citation style.
